The story of Contrada Picone
Contrada Picone is, above all, a story about roots.
Contrada Picone was born of an unbreakable bond with our village, tucked into the heart of Puglia — a land of centuries-old olive trees and light.
Every year the families of the cooperative hand-pick the olives from their groves, following a tradition passed down through generations. Cold-pressed within hours, they yield an extra virgin olive oil at once fruity and balanced — a symbol of our community’s craft and pride.
Now based in France, we wanted to share this treasure with anyone looking for an oil that is authentic, traceable and respectful of nature.
Importing this oil means sending a little of our village all the way to your kitchen — so that every dish carries the warmth of southern Italy.
“Contrada” means a hamlet or rural district in Italy — “Picone” is the one where the cooperative stands, in my village in Puglia. That is where I grew up.
